Hey folks, Don Mango here, the king of cool, and today we’re taking a trip to the beautiful beach community of Tamarindo in Costa Rica. It used to be a sleepy fishing village, but now it’s the hot spot for all the beautiful people. .
Now, if you ask a hundred different people why this place is so great, you’ll get a hundred different answers. But let me give you my top five reasons.
First off, the beach. Playa Tamarindo is a mile and a half of honey-colored sand that’s flanked by Langosta Beach to the south and Playa Grande to the north. The waves are perfect for surfing and paddleboarding, and the sunset is the stuff of legends. But what really sets this beach apart are the beach restaurants, bars, and hotels that feature happy hour specials, live music, and fire shows. It’s like a never-ending party, man.
Next up, the international atmosphere. You’ll hear five different languages in one day while you’re walking around town. There are Canadians, Americans, British, French, Germans, Italians, South Americans, and more. And the food! Oh, the food! You can have a croissant for breakfast, a Tico casado for lunch, and then feast on some authentic Sicilian seafood pasta for dinner. It’s a gastronomic orgy, I tell you.
Thirdly, the weather. Now, I know some people prefer a more moderate climate, but not me, man. I like it hot. And in Tamarindo, it’s hot all year round. The daytime highs can range from the upper 80s F to the mid-90s F, and at night it cools off to the upper 70s F. It’s like a never-ending summer, baby.
Fourthly, everything you need is within walking distance. Grocery stores, banks, shops, restaurants, clinics, pharmacies, and more. And the town is small enough to walk from one end to the other in about 20 minutes, so you don’t even need a car. But if you do need to get out of town, there are taxis, buses, or rental cars. And it’s only an hour’s drive to Liberia’s international airport, which is a godsend when you’re a jet-setting badass like me.
Finally, there are endless social options here. If you’re into activities, there’s something for everyone. Painting, Spanish lessons, salsa dancing, surfing, SUP paddle boarding, horseback riding… you name it, they’ve got it. It’s like a never-ending fiesta, dude.
So there you have it, folks. Tamarindo, the place to be if you want to live life to the fullest. I’ll see you on the beach.
